Der Düsseldorfer Energiekonzern Uniper rechnet für das Jahr 2022 mit einem Verlust in Milliardenhöhe. Nach vorläufigen Zahlen werde von einem Nettoverlust von 3,2 Milliarden Euro in den ersten neun Monaten des Geschäftsjahres ausgegangen, erklärte das Unternehmen am Dienstagabend. Aufträge im Bauhauptgewerbe stark zurückgegangen
Die stark gestiegenen Materialpreise und die höheren Baukreditzinsen sorgen dafür, dass immer mehr Bauvorhaben abgesagt oder gar nicht erst geplant werden. Der Auftragseingang im Bauhauptgewerbe ging von Juli bis August preisbereinigt um 6,0 Prozent zurück, im Vergleich zum Vorjahresmonat um 15,6 Prozent, wie das Statistische Bundesamt am Dienstag mitteilte. Im Wohnungsbau betrug der Rückgang laut Branchenverband ZDB sogar 24 Prozent im Vorjahresvergleich.

Bundeswirtschaftsminister Robert Habeck (Grüne) hat sich vor Beginn des EU-Energieministertreffens in Luxemburg für einen verpflichtenden gemeinsamen Gaseinkauf der Mitgliedsländer ausgesprochen. Der Hauptverband der Deutschen Bauindustrie hat seine Jahresprognose kräftig nach unten korrigiert. Banken und Sparkassen erhöhen den Dispozins
Zahlreiche Banken und Sparkassen in Deutschland haben die Zinsen für Dispo- und Überziehungskredite zuletzt angehoben. Laut einer Auswertung des Finanzvergleichsportals "Biallo" erhöhten in jüngster Zeit 264 von 1167 untersuchten Finanzinstituten den Dispozins, wie die "Süddeutsche Zeitung" ("SZ") in ihrer Dienstagsausgabe berichtet. In New York hat am Montag ein Steuerbetrugs-Prozess gegen das Geschäftsimperium von Ex-US-Präsident Donald Trump begonnen. Die Staatsanwaltschaft wirft der Trump Organization vor, Zusatzleistungen für Manager nicht angegeben und versteuert zu haben. Der langjährige Finanzchef der Familienholding, Allen Weisselberg, hat sich im Zuge des Verfahrens bereits in 15 Anklagepunkten schuldig bekannt. Der 75-Jährige soll als Schlüsselzeuge in dem Prozess aussagen. Ex-Präsident Trump selbst ist in dem Verfahren nicht angeklagt worden.
Ukraine wirft Russland Verzögerung der Weiterfahrt von 165 Frachtschiffen vor
Kiew hat Russland vorgeworfen, absichtlich die Weiterfahrt von rund 165 Frachtschiffen aus der Türkei zu verzögern, die in ukrainischen Häfen Getreide laden sollen. Russische Inspekteure hätten "die Überprüfung von Schiffen erheblich verlängert", erklärte das ukrainische Außenministerium am Montag. Deswegen "stecken mehr als 165 Schiffe in einer Warteschlange nahe der Bosporus-Meerenge fest", hieß es weiter. Die Zahl der wartenden Schiffe steigt demnach "täglich".

Zusammen mit EU-Kommissionspräsidentin Ursula von der Leyen forderte er einen "Marshallplan" für den Wiederaufbau für das von Russland angegrifffene Land.

Die Europäische Kommission plant einem Medienbericht zufolge die Einführung neuer Abgasnormen. Die geplante Abgasnorm Euro 7 soll eine Reihe von Zusatzkategorien erhalten, wie das "Handelsblatt" am Montag unter Berufung auf einem der Zeitung vorliegenden Entwurf der Brüsseler Behörde berichtete. Demnach ist etwa die Kategorie Euro 7+ für Autos vorgesehen, deren Batterie mindestens zehn Prozent länger hält als gesetzlich vorgegeben.
Europaweit einheitlicher Ladestecker USB-C kommt
Der Ladestecker USB-C als neuer Standard in der ganzen EU für Smartphones und Co kommt. Am Montag gaben die EU-Mitgliedstaaten in Brüssel ihre endgültige Zustimmung. Damit sollen ab Herbst 2024 alle neuen Handys, Tablets, Digitalkameras sowie Lautsprecherboxen mit dem Format USB-C aufgeladen werden können. Versicherungsverband: So wenige Autodiebstähle wie nie zuvor in Deutschland
Kriminelle haben in Deutschland im vergangenen Jahr so wenige Autos gestohlen wie nie zuvor. Im Jahr 2021 habe es in Deutschland zum ersten Mal seit Beginn der Statistik weniger als 10.000 Autodiebstähle gegeben, teilte der Gesamtverband der Deutschen Versicherungswirtschaft (GDV) am Montag in Berlin mit. Demnach wurden rund 9800 Autos gestohlen - acht Prozent weniger als im Vorjahr.
Energiewirtschaft: Gaspreisbremse wegen IT-Umstellung erst ab März möglich
Die deutschen Energieunternehmen haben Kritik am Start der Gaspreisbremse erst im März zurückgewiesen. "Die Gaspreisbremse auf den 01.01.2023 vorzuziehen, scheitert nicht am fehlenden Willen der Energiewirtschaft", erklärte die Präsidentin des Bundesverbands der Energie- und Wasserwirtschaft (BDEW), Marie-Luise Wolff, am Montag. Ein früherer Start sei angesichts der notwendigen "technisch-administrativen Umsetzung in so kurzer Frist" unmöglich.
Umfrage: Nur noch jeder Zweite kann Geld ansparen
Vor allem wegen der stark gestiegenen Energiepreise können immer weniger Menschen regelmäßig Geld beiseite legen. Derzeit sieht sich einer Umfrage des Instituts der deutschen Wirtschaft in Köln (IW) zufolge nur noch jeder Zweite dazu in der Lage. Im vergangenen Jahr waren es 70 Prozent, wie das Institut am Montag mitteilte. Im Schnitt können Sparer demnach monatlich 550 Euro zurücklegen.
