Im vergangenen Jahr schlossen 468.900 junge Menschen einen Vertrag in der dualen Berufsausbildung ab, das waren 0,6 Prozent mehr als im Vorjahr, wie das Statistische Bundesamt in Wiesbaden am Mittwoch mitteilte. Allein 269.800 Neuverträge entfielen auf den Bereich Industrie und Handel, ein Plus von 2,9 Prozent.
DLRG nimmt 2022 doppelt so viele Schwimmabzeichen ab wie im Vorjahr
Die Deutsche Lebensrettungsgesellschaft (DLRG) hat im Jahr 2022 insgesamt 78.716 Schwimmabzeichen abgenommen und damit doppelt so viele wie im Jahr zuvor. Die Zahl liege aber immer noch knapp 14 Prozent unter dem Niveau von 2019, teilte die DLRG am Mittwoch in Bad Nenndorf mit. "Wir nähern uns dem Niveau von vor der Pandemie - der Rückstand durch lange Zeit geschlossene Bäder ist aber weiterhin erheblich", erklärte Präsidentin Ute Vogt.

Die Gewerkschaft Verdi hat die Beschäftigten des insolventen Warenhauskonzerns Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof für Mittwoch in mehreren Bundesländern zu einem Warnstreik aufgerufen. Der Anteil der erneuerbaren Energien an der weltweiten Stromproduktion hat im vergangenen Jahr einen neuen Rekord erreicht. Wind- und Solarstrom kamen zusammengenommen auf einen Anteil von zwölf Prozent, wie aus dem am Mittwoch veröffentlichten Global Electricity Review 2023 der britischen Denkfabrik Ember hervorgeht. Der Internationale Währungsfonds (IWF) sieht die Weltwirtschaft in schwierigem Fahrwasser. Der Währungsfonds senkte am Dienstag seine Prognose leicht und rechnet für dieses Jahr nun mit einem globalen Wachstum von lediglich 2,8 Prozent. Die meisten Industriestaaten werden demnach eine eher schwache konjunkturelle Entwicklung erleben, aber einer Rezession entgehen - eine Ausnahme bildet Deutschland.
Buschmann veröffentlicht Gesetzentwurf für Änderung des Namensrechts
Das Bundesjustizministerium hat am Dienstag einen Gesetzentwurf zur Änderung des Namensrechts veröffentlicht, der als Kernstück gemeinsame Doppelnamen von Ehepaaren und Kindern vorsieht. Es gehe um "mehr Freiheit im Namensrecht", erklärte das Ministerium. Dem Entwurf zufolge sollen Ehepaare künftig beide bisherigen Familiennamen zum Ehenamen bestimmen können. Entscheiden sie sich für einen Doppelnamen, soll dieser zum Geburtsnamen gemeinsamer Kinder werden. Der Referentenentwurf wurde an die Länder und Verbände versendet, die bis Ende April Stellung nehmen können.

Bei der vorherigen Schätzung im Januar war der IWF noch von einem Wachstum um 0,1 Prozent ausgegangen.

Die elektronische Krankmeldung wird zunehmend zum Standard. Das zeigen die Daten des ersten Quartals des Regelbetriebs im Verfahren zwischen den Arbeitgebenden und den Krankenkassen, wie der GKV-Spitzenverband am Dienstag erklärte. Seit Jahresbeginn sind auch Arbeitgebende verpflichtet, das Verfahren zu nutzen. Seitdem riefen sie den Angaben zufolge bereits 21,6 Millionen digitale Krankmeldungen ihrer Beschäftigten ab. Im gesamten vergangenen Jahr waren es im Rahmen einer Pilotphase demnach 5,9 Millionen Abrufe.

Jedes sechste deutsche Unternehmen plant einer Umfrage zufolge, zum Erstellen von Texten in Zukunft Künstliche Intelligenz (KI) zu verwenden. Weitere 23 Prozent der befragten Unternehmen können sich das Verwenden von KI zumindest vorstellen, wie der Digitalverband Bitkom am Dienstag mitteilte. Jedes vierte Unternehmen gab demnach an, sich noch nicht ausreichend mit dem Thema befasst zu haben.
Rund 3,4 Millionen Menschen in Deutschland waren noch nie im Internet
Knapp sechs Prozent der Menschen im Alter zwischen 16 und 74 Jahren in Deutschland waren noch nie im Internet. Das teilte das Statistische Bundesamt in Wiesbaden am Dienstag unter Berufung auf Erhebungen zum Nutzungsverhalten im Kommunikationsbereich aus dem vergangenen Jahr mit. Das entsprach rund 3,4 Millionen Menschen. Am größten war der Anteil der sogenannten Offliner demnach in der Gruppe der 65- bis 74-Jährigen.

Gesundheitszustand von Italiens Ex-Regierungschef Berlusconi bessert sich
Der Gesundheitszustand des an Leukämie erkrankten früheren italienischen Ministerpräsidenten Silvio Berlusconi hat sich nach Angaben seiner Ärzte verbessert. Die vergangenen 48 Stunden hätten eine "fortschreitende und stabile Verbesserung der überwachten Organfunktionen" gezeigt, teilten die Mediziner am Montag mit. Die Behandlung zeige die "erwarteten Ergebnisse", die Ärzte sprachen von "vorsichtigem Optimismus". Der 86-Jährige bleibe auf der Intensivstation.

China hat mit einem dreitägigen Manöver vor Taiwan seine militärische Macht demonstriert: Die Militärübungen, bei denen unter anderem die Abriegelung der Insel und Angriffe auf dort gelegene "Schlüsselziele" geübt wurden, seien "erfolgreich abgeschlossen" worden, erklärte das territoriale Kommando Ost der chinesischen Volksbefreiungsarmee am Montag. Peking bekräftigte zudem, dass eine Unabhängigkeit Taiwans aus Pekings Sicht unvereinbar mit Frieden sei. Die US-Marine ließ unterdessen rund 1300 Kilometer von Taiwan entfernt einen Zerstörer nahe von China beanspruchter Inseln passieren.
Habeck hält Atomausstieg für unumkehrbar

Siebenjähriger in Hamburg von Linienbus erfasst und getötet
In Hamburg ist ein Siebenjähriger am Osterwochenende an einer Ampel von einem Linienbus erfasst und tödlich verletzt worden. Wie die Polizei in der Hansestadt am Montag mitteilte, betrat der Junge die Fahrbahn nach bisherigen Erkenntnissen bei Grün. Der Unfall ereignete sich am Samstagabend in der sogenannten Hafencity. Angehörige des Kindes mussten von einem Kriseninterventionsteam betreut werden, der genaue Hergang des Unfalls war demnach zunächst noch unklar.
Roßbach: Rentenproteste in Frankreich haben keine Auswirkungen auf Deutschland
Die Unruhen um die Rentenreform in Frankreich haben nach Einschätzung von Rentenpräsidentin Gundula Roßbach keine Auswirkungen auf die Diskussion um die Altersvorsorge in Deutschland. Die Kindergelderhöhung sei zwar ein wichtiger Schritt gewesen, reiche aber nicht aus im Kampf gegen Kinderarmut, sagte Paus der "Bild am Sonntag". Sie kämpfe dafür, "dass die Kindergrundsicherung wie geplant 2025 ausgezahlt werden kann". Finanzminister Christian Lindner (FDP) will allerdings die geforderten zwölf Milliarden Euro nicht zu Verfügung stellen.

"Pakete, die mehr als 20 Kilogramm wiegen, müssen dann künftig durch Speditionen mit zwei Personen zugestellt werden", sagte Heil der "Bild am Sonntag". Es gehe um die Gesundheit der Paketboten. "Viele Paketboten werden Bandscheibenvorfälle bekommen. Deshalb will ich durchsetzen, dass Pakete, die mehr als 20 Kilogramm wiegen, nicht mehr von einem allein geschleppt werden müssen."

74 tödlich verletzte Bauarbeiter 2022 - Gewerkschaft beklagt Arbeitsschutzmängel
Im vergangenen Jahr sind nach Gewerkschaftsangaben in Deutschland 74 Bauarbeiter während der Arbeit tödlich verletzt worden. Arbeitsniederlegungen seien in der Osterwoche in Rheinberg, Bad Hersfeld und Koblenz geplant, teilte Verdi am Samstag mit. An mehreren anderen Standorten sei bereits in den vergangenen Tagen gestreikt worden.
Stahl-Arbeitgeber lehnen Vier-Tage-Woche ab
Die Forderung der IG Metall nach einer Vier-Tage-Woche bei gleichem Lohn in der Stahlindustrie stößt bei der Arbeitgeberseite auf Ablehnung. Eine solche Vereinbarung würde "zu einer exorbitanten Kostensteigerung" führen und somit "zu einer Verschlechterung der Wettbewerbsposition", sagte der Vorstand des Arbeitgeberverbands Stahl, Gerhard Erdmann, der "Bild"-Zeitung vom Samstag. "Sie gefährdet damit Arbeitsplätze."
Airbus verkauft 50 Hubschrauber an chinesische Leasingfirma
Am letzten Tag der China-Reise von Frankreichs Präsident Emmanuel Macron hat der europäische Flugzeugbauer Airbus den Verkauf von 50 Hubschraubern an das chinesische Unternehmen GDAT bekannt gegeben. GDAT habe beschlossen, seine schon aus 26 Airbus-Hubschraubern bestehende Flotte um 50 H160-Hubschrauber zu erweitern, erklärte der Chef der Hubschrauber-Sparte von Airbus, Bruno Even, am Freitag. Zum Umfang des Geschäfts äußerte sich Airbus nicht.
FAO: Weltmarktpreise für Lebensmittel sinken allmählich
Die Weltmarktpreise für Nahrungsmittel sind nach UN-Angaben den zwölften Monat in Folge gesunken, bleiben aber immer noch "sehr hoch". Im März 2023 lagen sie um knapp 21 Prozent niedriger als im Vorjahresmonat, als die Auswirkungen des Ukraine-Krieges spürbar wurden, wie die Ernährungs- und Landwirtschaftsorganisation der Vereinten Nationen (FAO) am Freitag mitteilte. Im Vergleich zum Februar 2023 gingen die Preise demnach um 2,1 Prozent zurück.
Elfjähriger soll Zehnjährige in bayerischer Jugendeinrichtung getötet haben
Die Polizei hat im Fall des getöteten zehnjährigen Mädchens in einer Kinder- und Jugendhilfeeinrichtung im bayerischen Wunsiedel einen Elfjährigen als Verdächtigen ermittelt. Die Auswertung erster Spurenergebnisse vom Tatort "deuten auf die Tatbeteiligung eines elfjährigen Jungen aus der Einrichtung" hin, erklärten Polizei und Staatsanwaltschaft am Freitag. Der noch nicht strafmündige Junge wurde demnach "in einer gesicherten Einrichtung präventiv untergebracht".

Die russische Landeswährung ist auf ihren niedrigsten Stand seit einem Jahr gesunken. Am Freitagmorgen stand der Wechselkurs bei 90 Rubel für einen Euro. Der Währungskurs war infolge der russischen Offensive in der Ukraine zunächst abgesackt, hatte sich insbesondere wegen der hohen Energiepreise und daraus resultierender Einnahmen für Russland aber wieder erholt. Mittlerweile setzen die westlichen Sanktionen der russischen Wirtschaft stark zu.

Deutschland und Frankreich unterstützen eine EU-Klage gegen Ungarn wegen der Diskriminierung sexueller Minderheiten. Aus Berliner Regierungskreisen hieß es am Freitag, Bundeskanzler Olaf Scholz (SPD) habe mit Frankreichs Präsident Emmanuel Macron entschieden, dem Verfahren von Seiten der EU-Kommission gemeinsam beizutreten. Dabei geht es um ein ungarisches Gesetz, das "Werbung" für Homo- oder Transsexualität verbietet.
