Die Bundesregierung will den Einsatz von Holz bei Bauvorhaben stärken und so für mehr Klimaschutz und schnelleres Bauen sorgen. Dem Vorschlag der "Holzinitiative" von Bundesbauministerin Klara Geywitz (SPD) und Bundeslandwirtschaftsminister Cem Özdemir (Grüne), stimmte das Kabinett am Mittwoch zu, wie beide Ministerien mitteilten. Demnach sollen bis 2030 "der Einsatz von Holz wesentlich verbessert und die Holzbauquote erhöht werden".
Absoluter Vorrang des Autoverkehrs soll der Vergangenheit angehören
Klima- und Umweltschutz sowie die Gesundheit sollen im Straßenverkehr künftig stärker berücksichtigt werden als bislang und Kommunen sollen dafür mehr Freiräume erhalten. Der Fahrgastverband Pro Bahn rechnet vor allem in den Ferien wegen des Deutschlandtickets mit vollen Bahnen zu beliebten Ausflugszielen, die Bahn selbst verwies auf gesperrte oder teils gesperrte Strecken wegen Sanierungen. Die Nutzung und der Verkauf des 49-Euro-Tickets nahmen unterdessen zuletzt weiter zu, wie der Verband Deutscher Verkehrsunternehmen (VDV) am Mittwoch mitteilte.
EVG verkündet weitere Tarifeinigung mit Konkurrenzunternehmen der Bahn
Die Eisenbahn- und Verkehrsgewerkschaft (EVG) hat Tarifabschlüsse mit zwei weiteren Konkurrenzunternehmen der Deutschen Bahn (DB) erzielt. Mit dem Unternehmen Abellio, das Regionalbahnen in Thüringen, Sachsen-Anhalt und Westfalen betreibt, sowie mit der schleswig-holsteinischen NEG sei eine Einigung gelungen, erklärte die Gewerkschaft am Mittwoch. Die Verhandlungen mit der DB sollen am Nachmittag fortgesetzt werden.
Zahl der Nutzerinnen und Nutzer des Deutschlandtickets steigt an
Der Verkauf und die Nutzung des Deutschlandtickets hat weiter zugenommen. Während im Mai, dem Einführungsmonat des 49-Euro-Tickets, rund neun Millionen Fahrgäste das Angebot nutzten, waren es im Juni bereits 9,6 Millionen Fahrgäste, wie der Verband Deutscher Verkehrsunternehmen (VDV) am Mittwoch anlässlich seiner Jahrestagung in Leipzig mitteilte. Dort stellte der Verband aktuelle Zahlen zur Nutzung des Tickets vor.
Bundeskartellamt mahnt Google wegen Infotainmentsystemen in Fahrzeugen ab
Wegen möglicher Wettbewerbsbeschränkungen bei Google zulasten anderer Anbieter von Infotainment-Systemen für Fahrzeuge, hat das Bundeskartellamt Google Deutschland und den US-Mutterkonzern Alphabet abgemahnt. "Wir sehen es insbesondere kritisch, wenn Google Dienste für Infotainmentsysteme nur gebündelt anbietet", erklärte Andreas Mundt, der Präsident der Behörde, am Mittwoch in Bonn. Die Chancen der Konkurrenz, Dienste für Fahrzeuge einzeln anzubieten, verringerten sich durch diese Praktiken.
Im Mai fast ein Fünftel mehr Autos neu zugelassen in Europa
Das Wachstum auf dem europäischen Automarkt hat sich auch im Mai fortgesetzt. Im vergangenen Monat wurden 935.950 Autos neu zugelassen und damit 18,5 Prozent mehr als im Mai 2022, wie der europäische Herstellerverband Acea am Mittwoch mitteilte. Das sei der zehnte Monat in Folge mit einem Verkaufsplus.
Ökonomen rechnen mit Rückgang der Wirtschaftsleistung in diesem Jahr
Die hohe Inflation sorgt für eine anhaltende Konsumflaute, die hohen Kreditzinsen lassen die Nachfrage nach Bauleistungen weiter zurückgehen: Ökonomen rechnen vor allem daher damit, dass in Deutschland das Bruttoinlandsprodukt (BIP) in diesem Jahr schrumpfen wird, und zwar um 0,4 oder 0,5 Prozent. Die Wirtschaft erhole sich nur langsam von der Rezession, erklärten das Ifo-Institut und das Institut für Makroökonomie und Konjunkturforschung (IMK).

Lufthansa verkauft Tochterunternehmen Airplus für 450 Millionen
Die Lufthansa hat den auf Geschäftsreisen spezialisierten Zahlungsdienstleister Airplus für 450 Millionen Euro an die schwedische Bank SEB Kort verkauft. Die Airline wolle sich in Zukunft wieder mehr auf ihr Kerngeschäft konzentrieren, erklärte die Lufthansa am Dienstag in Frankfurt. Für den Abschluss des Verkaufs ihres Tochterunternehmen im ersten Halbjahr 2024 seien noch Genehmigungen verschiedener Finanzaufsichtsbehörden nötig.
IMK rechnet dieses Jahr mit leichtem Rückgang der Wirtschaftsleistung
Das Institut für Makroökonomie und Konjunkturforschung (IMK) der Hans-Böckler-Stiftung hat seine Prognose für dieses Jahr nach unten korrigiert. Statt mit einer Stagnation rechnet das IMK nun mit einem Rückgang der deutschen Wirtschaftsleistung um 0,5 Prozent, wie das Institut am Mittwoch mitteilte. Dafür gebe es mehrere Gründe: ein gedämpfter privater Konsum, ein zurückgegangener staatlicher Konsum, drastisch gesunkene Bauinvestitionen und eine eher verhaltene Entwicklung des Außenhandels.
Inflation in Großbritannien lässt nicht nach
Die Verbraucherpreise in Großbritannien verteuern sich weiterhin nahezu ungebremst. Die Inflation im Mai lag wie bereits im April bei 8,7 Prozent im Vergleich zum Vorjahresmonat, wie das Statistikamt ONS am Mittwoch auf Twitter mitteilte. Die Zahlen machen eine erneute Leitzinserhöhung der Bank of England am Donnerstag wahrscheinlich, wobei die steigenden Zinsen die Krise der hohen Lebenshaltungskosten im Land weiter anheizen.

Nach monatelangen Tarifverhandlungen haben die Eisenbahn- und Verkehrsgewerkschaft (EVG) und das Eisenbahnunternehmen Transdev einen Tarifabschluss erzielt. Die EVG nannte die Einigung mit der Transdev-Gruppe "wegweisend" und forderte die Deutsche Bahn (DB) am Dienstag auf, "sich ein Beispiel" zu nehmen. Die Beschäftigten von Transdev erhalten laut Gewerkschaft in zwei Schritten 420 Euro mehr im Monat und die meisten eine Inflationsprämie von 1400 Euro in diesem Jahr.

Der Anstieg der Erzeugerpreise für gewerbliche Produkte wie Lebensmittel und Haushaltsgeräte, Zement oder Stahl hat sich im Mai weiter verlangsamt. Im Vergleich zum Vorjahresmonat stiegen die Preise um lediglich 1,0 Prozent - der geringste Anstieg seit Januar 2021, wie das Statistische Bundesamt in Wiesbaden am Dienstag mitteilte. Die Entwicklung der Erzeugerpreise dürfte zumindest zum Teil auf die Entwicklung der Verbraucherpreise durchschlagen. Verglichen mit dem Vormonat gingen die Preise um 1,4 Prozent zurück.

"Die Klopperei in der Politik rund um das Gebäudeenergiegesetz war eine Katastrophe", sagte der Vorstandsvorsitzende des Bundesverbands Wärmepumpe, Paul Waning, der "Augsburger Allgemeinen" vom Dienstag. Chinas Zentralbank senkt zwei weitere wichtige Leitzinssätze
Im Bemühen um eine Ankurbelung der von der Corona-Krise geschwächten Wirtschaft hat Chinas Zentralbank des Landes zwei weitere wichtige Leitzinssätze gesenkt. Wie die Notenbank am Dienstag mitteilte, wurde der einjährige sogenannte LPR-Satz für Kredite für Haushalte und Firmen von 3,65 auf 3,55 Prozent gesenkt, der fünfjährige Satz, der die Immobilienkredite beeinflusst, wurde von 4,3 auf 4,2 Prozent abgesenkt.
EU-Kommission stellt Wirtschaftsstrategie mit Blick auf China vor
Die Europäische Kommission stellt am Dienstag voraussichtlich eine Strategie für wirtschaftliche Sicherheit vor (Pressekonferenz am Nachmittag). Sie befasst sich vor allem mit den Risiken durch die ökonomische Abhängigkeit von China. Die Europäische Union will sich etwa bei Rohstoffen unabhängiger von der Volksrepublik machen. Eine vollständige Abkopplung von Peking ist aber nicht vorgesehen. China ist der wichtigste Handelspartner der EU.
China und Deutschland halten Regierungskonsultationen in Berlin ab
Erstmals seit dem Amtsantritt von Bundeskanzler Olaf Scholz (SPD) halten Deutschland und China am Dienstag Regierungskonsultationen ab. Zum Auftakt empfängt Scholz den chinesischen Ministerpräsidenten Li Qiang mit militärischen Ehren im Kanzleramt (10.00 Uhr). Die Regierungschefs und jeweils acht bis neun Minister nehmen dann an den Beratungen teil. Eine Pressekonferenz von Scholz und Li ist am Mittag geplant (12.40 Uhr).
Airbus verbucht Rekordbestellung von 500 Flugzeugen vom Typ A320
Bei dem europäischen Flugzeugbauer Airbus ist eine Rekordbestellung von 500 Maschinen vom Typ A320 eingegangen. Die Bestellung wurde am Montag von der indischen Billig-Fluggesellschaft IndiGo bei der Internationalen Luft- und Raumfahrtausstellung im französischen Le Bourget aufgegeben und hat laut Listenpreis ein Volumen von 55 Milliarden Dollar (50,3 Milliarden Euro). IndiGo-Chef Pieter Elbers erklärte, es handele sich um den größten Deal in der zivilen Luftfahrt und sei für beide Unternehmen ein "historischer" Schritt.
Bundesregierung einigt sich mit Intel auf Bau von Chipfabrik in Magdeburg
Der Weg für den Bau eines großen Produktionskomplexes des US-Chipherstellers Intel in Magdeburg ist nach längeren Verhandlungen frei. Vertreter der Bundesregierung und des Konzerns unterschrieben nach einem Treffen in Berlin am Montag eine entsprechende Absichtserklärung, wie das Bundeswirtschaftsministerium und Intel mitteilten. Intel plant in Magdeburg nach eigenen Angaben Investitionen von mehr als 30 Milliarden Euro und soll dafür im Gegenzug Subventionen erhalten.
Bericht: Pistorius will Munitionsbeschaffung beschleunigen
Wegen der verschärften Sicherheitslage durch den russischen Angriffskrieg gegen die Ukraine will Verteidigungsminister Boris Pistorius (SPD) einem Bericht zufolge schneller mehr Munition für die Bundeswehr einkaufen. Das Ministerium plane, dem Haushaltsausschuss des Bundestags noch vor der parlamentarischen Sommerpause neun Verträge für den beschleunigten Ankauf von Artillerie- und Panzermunition vorzulegen, berichtete der "Spiegel" am Montag.
Ampel-Fraktionen einigen sich auf Fachkräfteeinwanderungsgesetz
Die Bundestagsfraktionen der Ampel-Parteien haben sich auf Nachbesserungen an dem von der Regierung vorgelegten Entwurf für ein Fachkräfteeinwanderungsgesetz geeinigt und damit den Weg zur parlamentarischen Beschlussfassung freigemacht. "Es ist wirklich längst überfällig, dass eine große Volkswirtschaft wie die Bundesrepublik Deutschland eines der modernsten Einwanderungsgesetze auf der Welt bekommt und das werden wir diese Woche erreichen", sagte die parlamentarische Geschäftsführerin der SPD-Fraktion, Katja Mast, am Montag in Berlin.
Einstieg von chinesischer Staatsreederei bei Hamburger Containterminal besiegelt
Nach langen und kontroversen politischen Debatten ist der Einstieg der chinesischen Staatsreederei Cosco bei einem Containerterminal im Hamburger Hafen endgültig besiegelt worden. Wie der Terminalbetreiber HHLA mitteilte, wurde der Vertrag am Montag unterzeichnet. Der Deal sichert Cosco eine 24,99-prozentige Beteiligung an dem Terminal Tollerort. Es ist eines von vier Containerterminals im Hamburger Hafen.
EU-Länder versuchen Einigung auf Strommarkt-Reform
Die Energieminister der Europäischen Union beraten in Luxemburg über die geplante Reform des gemeinsamen Strommarktes. EU-Energiekommissarin Kadri Simson äußerte die Hoffnung auf eine politische Einigung noch am Montag, denn der Strommarkt müsse "widerstandsfähiger gegen zukünftige Erschütterungen" werden. Bundeswirtschaftsminister Robert Habeck (Grüne) sagte, mit der Reform könnten "die günstigen Preise der Erneuerbaren an die Verbraucherinnen und Verbraucher besser weitergegeben werden".

Der Weg für den Bau einer Chipfabrik des US-Konzerns Intel in Magdeburg ist nach längeren Verhandlungen offenbar frei. Sachsen-Anhalts Wirtschaftsminister Sven Schulze (CDU) sagte dem Mitteldeutschen Rundfunk (MDR), er gehe davon aus, dass die Entscheidung über das große Projekt am Montag falle. "Das Projekt in Magdeburg nimmt nun an Fahrt auf und es kann endlich losgehen", sagte er dem Sender. Es gehe darum, die Importabhängigkeit bei Chips zu verringern.
EU und Kenia vereinbaren Abschluss von Freihandelsabkommen
Die EU und Kenia haben ihre Verhandlungen für ein Freihandels- und Partnerschaftsabkommen abgeschlossen. Der für Außenhandel zuständige EU-Kommissionsvizepräsident Valdis Dombrovskis unterzeichnete am Montag bei einer feierlichen Zeremonie in Nairobi eine entsprechende Einigung. "Heute ist ein Moment sehr großen Stolzes für Kenia, und ich glaube auch für die Europäische Union", sagte der kenianische Handelsminister Moses Koria.
Kretschmann fordert Einbeziehung der Länder bei Heizungsgesetz
Der Ministerpräsident von Baden-Württemberg, Winfried Kretschmann (Grüne), hat eine enge Einbeziehung der Länder bei der finalen Ausarbeitung des Heizungsgesetzes gefordert. "Ich kann dem Bund nur raten, dass jetzt schon mit uns zu besprechen", sagte Kretschmann am Sonntagabend in der ARD-Sendung "Bericht aus Berlin". Es gehe nicht, den Ländern ein Gesetz vorzusetzen "und uns dann unter Zeitdruck zu sagen, jetzt müsst ihr aber ganz schnell zustimmen".

Die EU und Kenia stehen vor dem Abschluss eines gemeinsamen Freihandelsabkommens. Der für Außenhandel zuständige EU-Kommissionsvizepräsident Valdis Dombrovskis wurde am Montag zu einer feierlichen Zeremonie mit Kenias Präsident William Ruto und Handelsminister Moses Kura zur Besiegelung der Vertragsverhandlungen in Nairobi erwartet. Vorab sprach der Lette von einem "bedeutsamen Tag".
Studie erwartet Verlust industrieller Produktionskapazitäten in Europa
International tätige Industrieunternehmen werden in den kommenden Jahren einer Studie der Unternehmensberatung Horváth zufolge in größerem Umfang Produktionskapazitäten in West- und Südeuropa abbauen. 30 Prozent der in der Region ansässigen Firmen planten in den nächsten fünf Jahren einen Abbau von Personal oder Fertigungsanlagen, heißt es in der Untersuchung, die der Nachrichtenagentur AFP am Sonntag vorlag. Zugleich wollten diese Produktionskapazitäten in Nordamerika und Asien ausbauen, dort unter anderem insbesondere in Indien.
