Die Deutsche Umwelthilfe (DUH) klagt beim Bundesverwaltungsgericht gegen den Betrieb des LNG-Terminalschiffs "Neptune" in Lubmin an der Ostsee. Die Betriebsgenehmigung durch das staatliche Amt für Landwirtschaft und Umwelt Vorpommern leide an "erheblichen Mängeln", erklärte die DUH am Montag. Sie müsse zurückgenommen werden.
Industrieproduktion im Juni deutlich gesunken
Deutschlands Industrieproduktion ist im Juni deutlich gefallen. Die Produktion im produzierenden Gewerbe sank im Juni um 1,5 Prozent im Vergleich zum Vormonat, wie das Statistische Bundesamt in Wiesbaden am Montag mitteilte. In den beiden wichtigen Bereichen Kfz und Kfz-Teile sowie Maschinenbau nahm die Herstellung sogar um 3,5 Prozent beziehungsweise um 1,3 Prozent ab. Im zweiten Quartal von April bis Juni betrug der Rückgang 1,3 Prozent im Vergleich zum Vorquartal.
Nach zwei Bootsunglücken nahe Italien werden mindestens 30 Migranten vermisst
Mindestens 30 Menschen werden nach zwei Bootsunglücken vor der italienischen Insel Lampedusa vermisst. Nach Angaben Überlebender handelt es sich dabei um etwa 28 Migranten von einem Flüchtlingsboot und drei Vermisste von einem weiteren, teilte die Internationale Organisation für Migration (IOM) am Sonntag mit. Beide Boote waren demnach am Samstag bei stürmischem Wetter untergegangen. Die seeuntüchtigen Metallboote waren vermutlich am Donnerstag von der Hafenstadt Sfax in Tunesien aufgebrochen.

Dehoga: 12.000 Restaurants müssen bei Mehrwertsteuererhöhung schließen
Der Hotel- und Gaststättenverband Dehoga hat vor einer Welle von Geschäftsaufgaben gewarnt, sollte die reduzierte Mehrwertsteuer für Speisen in Restaurants im kommenden Jahr wieder auf 19 Prozent angehoben werden. "Bei einer Steuererhöhung würden weitere 12.000 Unternehmen ihr Geschäft aufgeben", sagte die Dehoga-Hauptgeschäftsführerin Ingrid Hartges den Zeitungen der Funke Mediengruppe vom Samstag. "Eine Steuererhöhung wäre eine absolute Katastrophe und Gift für die Betriebe."
Bericht: Neurentner kriegen im Schnitt hundert Euro weniger
Wer im vergangenen Jahr in den Ruhestand getreten ist, bekommt einem Bericht zufolge im Schnitt hundert Euro weniger als vorher in Rente gegangene Senioren. Sogenannte Bestandsrentner bekommen laut der Antwort der Bundesregierung auf eine Anfrage der Linksfraktion durchschnittlich 1373 Euro, wie die "Augsburger Allgemeine" am Samstag berichtete. Neue Rentner kriegen dagegen 1275 Euro. Hintergrund sind demnach gebrochene Erwerbsbiografien aufgrund der höheren Arbeitslosigkeit der vergangenen Jahre.

Das chinesische Online-Netzwerk TikTok lässt Nutzern in der EU künftig die Wahl, ob sie personalisierte Empfehlungen sehen möchten oder nicht. Dies geschehe "im Rahmen unserer Bemühungen, die DSA-Anforderungen zu erfüllen", teilte TikTok am Freitag mit. Das neue EU-Gesetz für digitale Dienste (Digital Services Act - DSA), das am 25. August in Kraft tritt, sieht für Online-Dienste, Verkaufsplattformen und Suchmaschinen strengere Regeln vor.

Dies teilte das Bundesfinanzministerium am Freitag in Berlin mit. Aus der Gastronomie-Branche kommen seit Wochen Forderungen, die bis Ende des Jahres befristete Absenkung dauerhaft beizubehalten.

Das Düsseldorfer Modeunternehmen Peek & Cloppenburg hat vor seiner Insolvenz offenbar mehr Geld vom Staat bekommen als bisher angenommen. Wie das Magazin "Der Spiegel" unter Berufung auf das Wirtschaftsministerium Nordrhein-Westfalens berichtete, flossen während der Pandemie insgesamt 52 Millionen Euro im Rahmen der Überbrückungshilfe III an das Unternehmen. Mit dieser Überbrückungshilfe stützte der Staat zwischen November 2020 und Juni 2021 Unternehmen, die besonders unter sinkenden Umsätzen litten.
Deutliche Gewinne bei der Commerzbank
Die Commerzbank hat ihren Gewinn im zweiten Quartal dieses Jahres deutlich ausgebaut und sieht sich weiter auf Kurs. Von April bis Juni stieg das Konzernergebnis auf rund 565 Millionen Euro und war damit 20 Prozent höher als im Vorjahreszeitraum, wie die Commerzbank am Freitag mitteilte. Weniger neue Jobs in den USA geschaffen als erwartet
In den USA verstärken sich die Anzeichen einer Abkühlung auf dem Arbeitsmarkt. Die größte Volkswirtschaft der Welt schuf im Juli nur 187.000 neue Jobs und damit weniger als von Experten erwartet, wie am Freitag das Arbeitsministerium mitteilte. Experten hatten für Juli mit rund 200.000 neuen Jobs gerechnet. Zudem revidierte das Ministerium die Zahlen für Juni nach unten - von 209.000 auf 185.000 neue Arbeitsplätze.
IAEA: Kein Sprengstoff auf Dächern von ukrainischem Akw Saporischschja gefunden
Die Internationale Atomenergiebehörde (IAEA) hat nach eigenen Angaben keine Minen oder Sprengstoff auf Dächern und Turbinenhallen des von der russischen Armee besetzten ukrainischen Atomkraftwerks Saporischschja gefunden. Nach "wiederholten Anfragen" habe die Organisation am Donnerstagnachmittag "ungehinderten" Zugang erhalten zu den Dächern "von zwei Reaktoren" und auch die Dächer der Turbinenhallen sehen können, erklärte IAEA-Chef Rafael Grossi.

Nach dem Brand des Frachters "Fremantle Highway" hat das Bundesverkehrsministerium Forderungen nach einer Einstufung von E-Autos als Gefahrgut bei Transporten zurückgewiesen. Anhand der Zahlen der Versicherer gebe es keine Hinweise darauf, dass Elektroautos häufiger brennen würden als andere Autos, sagte ein Sprecher des Ministeriums am Freitag in Berlin. "Diese Entzündungen sind extrem seltene Defekte."
Wissing will Internetplattformen bei illegalen Inhalten in die Pflicht nehmen
Das Digitalministerium von Volker Wissing (FDP) hat einen Gesetzesentwurf vorgelegt, um Hass, Gewalt und Identitätsmissbrauch im Internet zu bekämpfen. Internetplattformen sollen demnach stärker in die Pflicht genommen werden, gegen rechtswidrige Inhalte vorzugehen, wie es am Freitag aus dem Ministerium hieß. Das geplante Digitale-Dienste-Gesetz soll eine EU-Verordnung ergänzen, die seit vergangenem Jahr in Kraft ist.
Gelder aus Kita-Qualitätsgesetz können an Länder fließen
Mehr Erzieherinnen, bessere Betreuungsschlüssel: Die vier Milliarden Euro aus dem sogenannten Kita-Qualitätsgesetz können nun an die Bundesländer fließen. Bundesfamilienministerin Lisa Paus (Grüne) hat ihre Verhandlungen mit den Ländern über die Verwendung der Gelder für 2023 und 2024 abgeschlossen. "Das Kita-Qualitätsgesetz kann jetzt in der Praxis starten", sagte Paus am Freitag in Berlin. Sie nannte das Gesetz einen "wichtigen Schritt in Richtung Bildungsgerechtigkeit".
57 Prozent der Eltern mit Kitaschließungen oder kürzerer Betreuung konfrontiert
Fast sechs von zehn erwerbstätigen Eltern sind im Frühjahr mit Kitaschließungen oder kürzeren Betreuungszeiten wegen Personalmangels konfrontiert gewesen. 57 Prozent der Eltern gaben dies in einer am Freitag veröffentlichten repräsentativen Befragung der Hans-Böckler-Stiftung an. 67 Prozent der Betroffenen gaben an, dass sie die Ausfälle beziehungsweise die verkürzte Betreuung als belastend empfinden. 30 Prozent bewerteten die Situation als sehr belastend.
Studie: Jugendliche aus reicheren Familien haben häufiger einen Nebenjob
Zahlreiche Schülerinnen und Schüler arbeiten nebenbei oder in den Ferien: In den Jahren 2018 bis 2020 hatten 41,7 Prozent der 17-Jährigen einen Nebenjob, wie aus einer am Freitag veröffentlichten Studie des Instituts der deutschen Wirtschaft (IW) in Köln hervorgeht. Amazon und Apple im zweiten Quartal mit höheren Gewinnen als erwartet
Der Onlineriese Amazon und der Technologiekonzern Apple haben im Quartal von April bis Juni höhere Gewinne erzielt als erwartet. Amazon verbuchte einen Nettogewinn von 6,7 Milliarden Dollar (6,1 Milliarden Euro), Apple von 19,9 Milliarden Dollar. Beide Unternehmen erklärten am Donnerstag, sie setzten stark auf neue Technologien der Künstlichen Intelligenz (KI).
Deutlich mehr Pkw-Neuzulassungen im Juli
Die Zahl der neu zugelassenen Autos in Deutschland ist im Juli deutlich gestiegen. Wie das Kraftfahrtbundesamt (KBA) am Freitag mitteilte, wurden im vergangenen Monat gut 243.000 Pkw neu zugelassen, 18,1 Prozent mehr als ein Jahr zuvor. Den Großteil machten dabei gewerbliche Zulassungen aus, sie nahmen um fast 25 Prozent zu. Die privaten Zulassungen kletterten um 5,5 Prozent.

Der durchschnittliche Förderbetrag beim Bafög ist binnen eines Jahres um rund fünf Prozent gestiegen. 2022 erhielten Empfängerinnen und Empfänger im Schnitt 592 Euro im Monat, wie das Statistische Bundesamt am Freitag in Wiesbaden mitteilte. 2021 waren es noch 30 Euro weniger gewesen. Die Zahl der Empfängerinnen und Empfänger stieg um ein Prozent auf 630.000 Menschen.
Großbestellungen sorgen für kräftigen Anstieg der Industrieaufträge im Juni
Das Verarbeitende Gewerbe hat im Juni erneut deutlich mehr Aufträge erhalten. Der Auftragseingang stieg im Vergleich zum Vormonat um 7,0 Prozent, wie das Statistische Bundesamt in Wiesbaden am Freitag mitteilte. Grund waren vor allem Großaufträge im Bereich Maschinenbau und ein Großauftrag im Luft- und Raumfahrzeugbau. Ohne diese großen Bestellungen wären die Aufträge im Juni um 2,6 Prozent zurückgegangen.
Drei internationale Konzerne nehmen Ölförderung in Libyen wieder auf
Nach etwa einem Jahrzehnt Abwesenheit haben BP und zwei weitere große Energieunternehmen angekündigt, die Erdölförderung im Krisenland Libyen wieder aufzunehmen. Die drei baltischen Staaten wollen bis Februar 2025 ihre Stromnetze von Russland abkoppeln und an das EU-Netz anschließen. Die Ministerpräsidentinnen von Litauen und Estland und der Ministerpräsident von Lettland unterzeichneten am Donnerstag eine gemeinsame Erklärung dazu. "Die Tatsache, dass die baltischen Staaten noch immer zu dem von Russland verwalteten Stromnetz gehören, bedeutet eine Bedrohung der Energiesicherheit", heißt es darin.
Saudi-Arabien drosselt Ölproduktion einen weiteren Monat lang
Saudi-Arabien verlängert die aktuelle Drosselung seiner Ölproduktion um einen weiteren Monat. Die seit Juli geltende Reduzierung der täglichen Fördermenge um eine Million Barrel werde auch im September fortgesetzt, teilte am Donnerstag das Energieministerium mit. Damit fördert Saudi-Arabien rund neun Millionen Barrel pro Tag. Ein Barrel sind 159 Liter.

Die britische Zentralbank hat den Leitzins am Donnerstag zum 14. Mal in Folge angehoben. Er steigt um 0,25 Prozentpunkte auf 5,25 Prozent, wie die Bank of England mitteilte. Das ist der höchste Stand seit Oktober 2008. Die Inflation im Land ist weiterhin sehr hoch, im Juni lag sie bei 7,9 Prozent.
Deutschlands Autobauer produzieren im Juli 20 Prozent mehr Pkw
Die Autobauer in Deutschland haben im Juli rund ein Fünftel mehr Autos produziert als im Vorjahresmonat. 300.300 Pkw liefen von den Bändern, wie der Verband der Deutschen Automobilindustrie (VDA) am Donnerstag mitteilte. In den ersten sieben Monaten waren es gut 2,5 Millionen Autos. Das waren demnach aber immer noch elf Prozent weniger als in den ersten sechs Monaten 2019 vor Corona.

Die Lufthansa steuert auf eines der besten Jahresergebnisse der Konzerngeschichte zu. Dank starker Nachfrage und höherer Preise für Flugtickets verdreifachte das größte europäische Luftfahrtunternehmen im zweiten Quartal seinen Gewinn im Vergleich zum Vorjahreszeitraum. Im dritten Quartal sei mit einem besseren Ergebnis als 2019 vor der Corona-Pandemie zu rechnen, erklärte die Lufthansa am Donnerstag.

Die Münchner Polizei fahndet öffentlich mit Bildern nach einem bislang unbekannten Mann, der in einem Münchner Kino drei Mädchen im Alter zwischen zwölf und 13 Jahren sexuell missbraucht haben soll. Er soll sich während laufender Vorführungen neben die Jugendlichen gesetzt und sexuelle Handlungen an sich selbst vorgenommen haben, wie die Polizei am Donnerstag in der bayerischen Landeshauptstadt mitteilte.
Deutschlands Exporte stagnieren - Importe sinken
Die deutschen Exporte treten weiter auf der Stelle. Die Ausfuhren legten im Juni im Vergleich zum Vormonat minimal um 0,1 Prozent auf 131,3 Milliarden Euro zu, wie das Statistische Bundesamt in Wiesbaden am Donnerstag auf Basis vorläufiger Daten mitteilte. Deutschlands Bauern hoffen auf trockenes Wetter
Deutschlands Landwirte haben in den vergangenen Wochen nur einen Bruchteil der Getreideernte einbringen können. "Der Regen bremst die Mähdrescher aus", erklärte der Bauernverband (DBV) am Donnerstag. Bei Weizen, Roggen und der Sorte Triticale, einer Kreuzung aus Weizen und Roggen, sei erst ein Fünftel der Anbaufläche gedroschen. "Für die nächsten Wochen braucht es dringend eine stabilere und vor allem trockene Wetterlage."

Der Einsatz von Antibiotika ist in der Tiermedizin im vergangenen Jahr erneut zurückgegangen. Insgesamt betrug die Abgabemenge 2022 rund 540 Tonnen, was einen Rückgang von 10,1 Prozent im Vergleich zum Vorjahr bedeutet, wie das zum Landwirtschaftsministerium gehörende Bundesamt für Verbraucherschutz und Lebensmittelsicherheit (BVL) am Donnerstag erklärte. Verglichen mit dem Beginn der Erfassung im Jahr 2011, ist die Antibiotikamenge sogar um rund 68 Prozent gesunken.
Studie: Immobilienpreise stabilisieren sich
Die Preise auf dem Immobilienmarkt haben sich einer Studie nach im zweiten Quartal 2023 stabilisiert. Im Vergleich zu den ersten drei Monaten des Jahres, stiegen die Preise für Ein- und Mehrfamilienhäuser sogar wieder an, wie aus dem Immobilienindex Greix des Kieler Instituts für Weltwirtschaft (IfW) vom Donnerstag hervorgeht. BMW steigert Absatz - Verkäufe von E-Autos mehr als verdoppelt
Der Autobauer BMW hat seinen Absatz im ersten Halbjahr 2023 stark gesteigert. Der Münchener Konzern verkaufte 11,3 Prozent mehr Fahrzeuge als im Vorjahreszeitraum, wie er am Donnerstag mitteilte. Bei E-Autos verzeichnete BMW mehr als eine Verdopplung der Verkäufe. Der Konzernumsatz legte demnach im zweiten Quartal um sieben Prozent im Jahresvergleich auf 37,2 Milliarden Euro zu.
Inflation in der Türkei steigt laut offiziellen Angaben auf knapp 48 Prozent
In der Türkei hat sich der Anstieg der Verbraucherpreise wieder beschleunigt. Im Juli lag die Inflationsrate bei 47,8 Prozent, wie die Statistikbehörde Tuik am Donnerstag mitteilte. Im Juni waren es rund 38 Prozent gewesen. Die neue Zentralbankchefin Hafize Gaye Erkan hatte die Türkinnen und Türken vergangene Woche bereits darauf vorbereitet, dass die Inflation im Land wieder steigen werde - dies sei aber vorübergehend.
